Hi fellow nail polish lovers!! Happy Saturday!!
I decided to try a jelly sandwich for the first time. For those who haven't heard of this mani before, a jelly sandwich is when a layer of glitter is sandwiched between two layers of polish. Typically, there is a base color, a layer of glitter, and a jelly polish over the glitter.
For this manicure, I used
Revlon's Plum Seduction as my base. I then layered E.L.F.'s Golden Goddess (a clear base with fine and medium, circular gold glitter). I then layered
Forever 21 Love & Beauty's Magenta. Finally, I topped it with Seche Vite fast dry top coat.
I'm reallly happy with the way this mani came out. I have quite a few pics, because I wanted you to see it from diffferent angles to get the full effect. Here they are:

Have you tried a jelly sandwich mani before? I plan to do a lot more of these.
I have yet to do a jelly sandy. This color looks great on you.
ReplyDeleteThat looks really nice, I may have to attempt something similar :) x
ReplyDeleteThanks Ida and Saira!!
ReplyDeleteGreat job! I have yet to complete a successfully jelly sandwich. The shine on yours is awesome!
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous! I see you have quite a few of the larger glitter pieces on the nail. In my Golden Goddess bottle, they are all on the bottom and I can't get them out.
ReplyDeleteOoooohhhh pretty!!! I am so intrigued by this jelly sandwich technique that is still so new to me! Makes me want to try it! :) My question is how can you tell what consitutes a "jelly" to put on top? Do you just make sure it is slightly see-through so the glitter shows through undeneath?
ReplyDeleteYour jelly sandwich manicure looks amazing - the combination goes sooooooo well with your skin tone!
ReplyDeleteI've never tried a jelly sandwich manicure before, but seeing this makes me want to do one soon. :)
Thanks H!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mihaela!! Sorry about your glitter. The big ones go throughout my bottle. Maybe you didn't get a good one :(.
Angie, I think you're right. You have to find lighter jellies that will allow the glitter to show through. Also, I think the glitter needs to be just right also. If it's too fine, it won't have the same effect.
Mary, thank you!! You should definitely try it. I'd love to see the result.
Oh, I love this on you - I too think it's perfect with your skintone! I'm a huge fan of jellies, and jelly sandwiches.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nicole!!!
ReplyDeleteAfter reading this morning, I really did run out to give it a try. I didn't mean to - but it was totally irresistible. What, with two great glitter polishes and so many colors to try it with...how could I not? Thanx for sharing the technique!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of a jelly sandwich before. It's really interesting, will have to try it out myself :)
ReplyDeleteMelissa and Rhea, can't wait to see what you guys come up with!
ReplyDeletethat is such a great idea. i am definitely going to give it a try.

Hey I just stumbled on your blog! I have a question... what exactly is a jelly? I live in England so maybe we call it something different here (assuming you don't live here too!) NIce blog, new follower :)
ReplyDeleteHi Wig! Thanks for reading ;0). A jelly is polish with a gooey like consistency, reminiscent of the texture of the jelly you eat. Hope this makes sense.
ReplyDeleteOhh I think we must cal it something different then...! I've never seen a polish labelled as jelly but I'll look out for it!! I've nominated you for the Versatile Blogger award :) details are on my page!
ReplyDeleteGosh when i first saw this i thought so yummie!!! Lovely color :D
