Hi everyone!! Happy Saturday ;0). I'm very excited to have a four-day weekend. I really need it. I hope you guys have a great weekend planned.
Today, I have a Savvy polish to share with you. This is my second time trying a Savvy polish, the first was
Ice Pink. Ruby Slippers is a deep red jelly with red microglitter. It is very reminiscent of China Glaze Ruby Pumps and
Orly Star Spangled. I'm sure there are many other similar ones out there as well. I'll have to do a comparison at some point.
The formula for Ruby Slippers was a bit runny, but manageable. It applied evenly and was opaque in one coat. The polish also tried very quickly, but to a gritty texture. It wasn't too gritty though, so I'm sure with a thick layer of top coat, it would be nice and smooth. For these swatches, I used two coats and not base or top coat.

While this polish isn't anything spectacular, I really like it because it's red with glitter. I'm definitely happy to have it.
Savvy can be found at Sally's Beauty Supply stores. I believe the cost is in the $4 range. I've seen quite a few of them on sale for $1.99 recently.
What do you guys think of Ruby Slippers?
looks really lovely
ReplyDeleteThanks Shannara!!
DeleteI think it looks very beautiful! I love these kind of reds.
ReplyDeleteThank you!!! Me too ;0)
DeleteThis is lovely! It's the kind of red that would look acceptable on me and I love the glitter! Great purchase!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mihaela!!
DeleteI don't know that I'd buy it since ruby pumps is still available but it's a good back-up to have.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a good back up too. I love these types of polishes, so I don't think I can have too many ;0)
DeleteVery pretty... I thought I heard somewhere that Sally's was discontinuing the Savvy line, but I might be wrong about that...
ReplyDeleteThat may be true. It would definitely explain why they're all on sale. I didn't hear anything though.
DeleteVery pretty!! I like Savvy polishes (I've used three different ones and I liked all of them!). :D
ReplyDeleteIt seems to be a pretty good brand.
Deletelooks really pretty I have that Savvy polish, its so sparkly
ReplyDeleteSure is ;0)
DeleteGreat red glitter :D I don't think I own any red glitter polishes...
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful 4 day weekend!
Gorgeous red! I've seen Savvy in Sally before, but I was never that struck by the brand enough to pick it up. I will say that that may be because my Sally's carries really old, yucky Savvy polishes that look like dried sand, but I may have to dig a little deeper for a good one to try them out now!
