In a recent conversation with two of my polish buddies, Crystal and Saira, I discovered that they both liked red polish, but had to be in the mood to wear it. I was totally shocked, because I'm a total red lover and I can wear it anytime! I think red is one of those classic nail polish colors that looks awesome on any skin tone. So I told them it would be my job to make them become red lovers, heehee ;0). Saira then promised she would try a red during the week and got Crystal on board. So we decided to just post our reds on the same day.
For my red, I'm sharing Red Velvet by E.L.F. which I got from Target as a part of a holiday gift set. The set came with 5 polishes and cost $5. Of all of the polishes, the only I've used prior to this was Golden Goddess, one of my favorite glitters.
Red Velvet is a really pretty deep red shimmer that applied well. It was fully opaque in two coats and had just the right consistency. The only thing I wasn't too fond of was that it dried to a velvety finish. It was weird for me. I never had another polish dry that way.
In the pics below, I used Essie All in One Base and two coats of Red Velvet, no top coat.

ReplyDeleteThanks Amanda!! I know you're a red girl too ;0)
DeletePretty red!
ReplyDeleteThanks Bethany!
DeleteI think red is a very hard color to wear because of the blue or orange undertones in it. Most reds look orange on me because of my cool-toned skin. I have to find blue-based reds. I'm sure most reds look great on you and this one does too and the shimmer is very pretty!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mihaela!!!
DeleteHoly red hotness! You know know how much I love reds and this is no exception! Looks fab on you- love the shimmer!
ReplyDeleteHaha! Thanks Dana ;0)
