Hi everyone!!
I have a comparison post for you today! Some time ago my polish friend,
Crystal, asked me to compare
A-England Morgan Le Fay and
Essie Pure Pearlfection. She already had the A-England and was considering getting the Essie. Take a look at the pic below to see if you notice a difference!

Artificial Light. Layered over Orly Frolic. |
Did you notice anything? I layered Pure Pearlfection over the index and ring fingers and Morgan Le Fay over the middle and pinky fingers. They are very similar, but Morgan Le Fay has a more dense shimmer. Here's a bottle shot:

Just by looking at the bottle you can see that Morgan Le Fay is a lot thicker than Pure Pearlfection. You can also tell which I use more right now, lol. |
Here are a few more pictures with the polishes layered over Frolic:

Since these two are so close, I think if you have one, you really don't need the other. Also, to just note the prices, Essie is usually sold for about $8 and can even be found for as low as $5.99. A-England on the other hand is about $13.
Thanks for reading! I hope you found this post helpful.
Thanks for the great comparison! They really do look quite similar. Saves me some cash since I've already got Pure Pearlfection. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad it was helpful Chelsea!
DeleteGreat comparison!
ReplyDeleteThanks Meredith!
DeleteAw, man, I walked right past Pure Pearlfection just last week and didn't get it. Going to cross my fingers like mad and hope they still have it in stock because I love the effect. Thanks for the swatches!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it'll still be available. It's such a gorgeous layering polish.
DeleteGreat comparison post, especially given the price difference!
ReplyDeleteThanks Amanda!
DeleteI agree - great comparison! I've been wanting to try an A-England polish but for this one, I think I'll go with Essie :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, A-England has lots of other awesome unique choices!
DeleteThere are a lot of dupes lately. I find myself being patient and just wait and 9 times out of 10 you can find a cheaper dupe. Also I believe SH has a dupe of this one too.
ReplyDeleteHave not seen the SH dupe for this - in fact with all my CND effects, I don't have a dupe for Essie's Pure Pearlfection.
DeleteHaven't heard of the SH. You're so right so many cheap alternatives.
DeleteGreat post Marisa! I know you love the Pure Pearlfection and I can see why. It looks so gorgeous over Frolic. And it's cheap too!
ReplyDeleteYes, PP is one of my faves!! It's so pretty. Thanks hon
Delete.....Great comparison post, although before this post I really didn't want either of these and now I want the Essie one >.< lol
ReplyDeleteLol!!! You should get it! It's so pretty.
DeleteThey are really similar, but I was able to tell the difference. I think they're both really pretty but I think I prefer the Essie for it's price.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. The difference is visible, but you could definitely do with just one.
DeleteWow awesome :-)

DeleteWow! Great comparison! I love it! I'm glad Essie is a cheaper alternative hehe.
ReplyDeleteThanks Traci!!
DeleteI only realised you used two different polishes after reading the post. They look very much alike but both are great :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I like them both. Very pretty.
DeleteI adore Essie's Pure Pearlfection and think it's been a real sleeper of those release in the LuxEffects collection. I think many worry it's going to turn a lovely mani into an old fashion icky pearl coating - it's totally not what this Effect does at all. Looks wonderful over Frisky which is a biggie fav of mine from Orly summer 2011. Highly suggest to those who have been into glitter toppers to give 'em a rest and opt for some softer toppers like Essie's Pure Pearlfection.
ReplyDeleteGreat comparison! Thanks! I'll stick with a0England because they're Cruelty-free and Essie isn't, but it's good to know how close they are. So I don't feel like I'm missing anything not having both.
ReplyDeleteThanks hon. Yes, you're good with just the A-England ;0)
