Today I'm sharing Sinful Colors Mint Apple, but with a little twist. Maria from Nails Made Simple had a great idea to do a special post, "Mother to Daughter" since today is Mother's Day in Mexico. You can see her post here.
I was so excited about her idea because my mom NEVER does her nails and it was a good way to get her involved with my love for polish. I'm so glad she agreed ;0). Now keep in mind, I knew that I was never going to get her to do nail art, so I asked what color she wanted to do. Green is her favorite color and when I showed her a few, she chose Mint Apple. Great choice!
Mint Apple is a mint green shimmer crelly that I got from Nory (thanks Nory!!). The first coat was a bit streaky, but it was fully opaque and even with the second coat. I love the beautiful shimmer on this polish. I used Essie All in One Base and Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat.

I'm so glad I got a chance to do this with my mom. It's nothing fancy, but I'm just happy I got to do her nails. This color is so her!

DeleteAww, that's so fun! I like Mint Apple a lot. I have it, but had major chipping issues after using SV topcoat on it. I feel like SV only works well with certain polishes. I tried a different topcoat and the polish lasted much longer. I love how you featured your mom in this post! My mom is into polish (just about) as much as I am. We talk colors and collections...she had Essie's Navigate Her before me, haha. Mint Apple looks great on both of you! :)

DeleteI Do Have Mint Apple and I Love it!! I did a post about it in my blog. I think it suits our brown skin BEAUTIFULLY. My mom came over last week to steal it :)

Deletei do have this color,however it brings a painful memories because my beach cruiser was this color and they stole my beach cruiser! :( anyway enough of my lil sad story there..lol this color looks perfect on you and your mom <3

ReplyDeleteI paint my mother's nails yesterday night..and I use the polish maltês, of Risqué Dogs. He prefer lilacs...but It was so wonderful! and I use konad too euhauheuha but this not happen always"/

DeleteI love that you got your mom involved in this! My mom and I have VERY different tastes in polish so I can't ever imagine her in any of the "wilder" colors I dabble with. This shimmer mint is so fantastic on both of your skin tones, it's just magnificent.

DeleteI love that shade, looks great on you and your mum, my mum always painted her nails normally 3/4 times a week, but unfortunately she got ill and hasn't painted them for over 15 years although , she still has some lovely nails on her, I may have to paint them next time she is up!

Beautiful colour on your beautiful hands, my mu has started letting me paint her nails, only now and again though. Like her I am a religious toenail painter! Hopefully now I do my fingers she might let me do hers more often.
