Hi everyone!!
Today I have yet another purchase to share from my day after Christmas shopping. I happened to pass by a store called Aerie by American Eagle. I'd never heard of the store before, but decided to check if they had polish and they sure did. I picked up three of them that looked really pretty.
The first polish is called Champagne Shimmer/Champagne Brilliant. I believe the second name is the french version. This is a champagne shimmer. It almost has a foil finish. The formula was fairly good, it was a bit runny and some balding occurred. However, it was opaque in two coats. While I think this is a pretty polish, I'm not a big fan of it on me. I might have to use it for designs in the future. I used no base or top coat for any of these swatches.

The second polish I picked up is called Paint it Red/Touche de Rouge. This one is a gorgeous pinkish red with silver shimmer. Unfortunately, the shimmer didn't translate on the nail. The formula also wasn't that great, while it went on smoothly, it was thin and runny. I had to use 3 coats to prevent VNL. Despite the formula, I really like this color and I figure you can never have too many reds ;0).

The final polish is Pink Frost/Rose Glac
é. It is a sheer pink base with silver, light pink, and holographic microglitter. This was my favorite of the three. Not only is it pretty and simple, it also went on smoothly and dried to a smooth finish and wasn't gritty. Because it is a sheer polish, there was still some VNL after 3 coats, but I didn't even care. I absolutely love the glitter in this polish and it's officially one of my favorites.

These polishes retail for $7.50, but 2 of them were on sale for $6 each. The bottles are .5 fl. oz.
So what do you guys think? Have you ever heard of this brand?
I didn't know about this brand. I love the first shade ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks Carolina! It would probably look way better on you than it does with my skin tone.
DeleteI've never heard of this brand. Did you say "too many red shades"? There's no such thing as too many shades of nail polish.
ReplyDeleteExactly!!
DeleteAll look gorgeous! I hadn't heard of this brand but will be keeping a look out next time I'm in my local mall.
ReplyDeleteYes, check it out and see if they have any.
Deletedon't know it but looks pretty
ReplyDeleteThanks Shannara!
DeleteI've never heard of this brand. Is it French? I actually went to France last summer and the nail polish choice was very poor (and expensive). I really love the last one too, but I like them all.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if it's French. It may be, but I haven't done any research on it :(.
DeleteWow, I haven't been in that store in years (I think I'm finally too 'old' for that place) but hell if they have polish I'll be there! I've been wanting to check out the polish at Forever 21 too, if I can bear walking into the place.
ReplyDeleteI can do 2 for $6 ;o) These are really pretty.
Forever 21 has some cute ones too.
DeleteBoth are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks Meredith ;0)
DeleteI like the Pink Frost the best I think. You can't beat a bit of holo!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree Liane! Thanks ;0).
DeleteI think it's really interesting that all these non-cosmetic stores (Aldo, Aerie, Banana Republic, etc.) are coming out with their own line of polishes. While I never personally tried any of the American Apparel polishes, I hope that more stores take a leaf out of their book and start producing a lot more colors for a relatively cheap price.
ReplyDeleteAnd now less tangentially: I really like these colors on you. You should wear more reds!!! They pop on you and look so juicy!
Thanks so much Amanda! I do love a good red ;0). I'm very happy about the non-cosmetic stores coming out with nail polish lines. More for us, heehee ;0).
DeleteSo pretty! I LOVE the holo glitter!
ReplyDeleteThanks hon. Me too ;0)
DeleteOh wow. I didn't know Aerie had its own store, and I definitely didn't know they had nail polish haha. They look pretty nice. I love the first one the best :D
