Lightning Bolt

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!  Happy Thursday! It's been a busy week for me at work and will continue to be for a while, but I'll try to keep up as much as I can.  I hope you guys aren't as busy as I am.

I have a manicure I tried out for a competition on Instagram to share with you!  I tell you, Instagram has really been encouraging me to try out nail art with these competitions that are being held.  Everytime I try, I think, this is going to be a total failure, and everytime I surprise myself.  Now are they perfect? No.  But they turned out to be pretty good.

Lisa (@lisa_beth) hosted a competition to copy her manicures.  It was hard to come to a decision because she has such awesome nail art and I didn't know what I could possibly replicate.  If you're on Instagram, go follow her and you'll see all of the awesome work she does.  Anyhoo, I finally decided on lightning bolt mani that she did.  Here's her version:

Since I'm not a black polish girl, I decided to go with red.  Red and gold go so well together.

 I painted my ring finger with two coats of Beauty UK Aztec.  Then cut out a piece of tape in the shape of a lightning bolt.  Hubby had to help me with cutting it.  I had such a hard time getting it into the right shape!  I seriously felt like a dud, smh.

After placing the tape on the nail, I added Sinful Colors Fire Red to the nail.  I also painted my other nails with two coats of Fire Red.   I finished it off with a coat of Seche Vite.  Here are a few more pics:

I was really happy with how the mani turned out.  I felt like Wonder Woman, lol!!

What do you guys think of this mani?  Something you would wear?
