Hi everyone!! We're almost at the end of the week ;0).
Today, I am sharing a polish that Amanda from
Fashion Footing sent to me. We had a mini swap about a month ago. Special Request is the first and only Sephora by OPI polish I have. It is a coral crelly that is pretty sheer. While I love the color of this polish, the formula isn't that great. It applied very streaky, even after the 3rd coat. There was also still VNL. It did dry quickly and to a shine though.
In these pictures, I used 3 coats of Special Request with no base and top coat.

I really, really love this color, but I'm disappointed by the formula. This polish will be going in my water marbling pile. Yes, I have a pile, lol. Hopefully, it will work well and I'll still be able to get pretty manicures using it.
What do you guys think of Special Request? Do you have this or any other Sephora by OPI polishes?
Lovely red!
ReplyDeleteAdorable shade!
ReplyDeleteThanks Carolina!
DeleteGreat color! Shame about the formula though; I've never tried a SOPI before so I hope they're not all like that :/
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping so as well. It is a great color though!
DeleteSuch a pretty color! Too bad about the formula. I hate when that happens :(
ReplyDeleteMe too :(. Hopefully, I'll still get some good use out of it.
DeleteThis shade is great! Too bad the formula is questionable. perhaps you have a shade that your could layer under it to eliminate the VNL?
ReplyDeleteIsn't it pretty?? Yes, I could possibly layer it, but I'd still have to deal with the poor formula. Not sure it's worth the trouble :(.
DeleteThis polish looks like a salsa dance in the summer on your nails - LOVE IT! :D Shame about the formula, though.
ReplyDeleteHmm...the only Sephora by OPI polishes I have are Metro Chic and Caught With My Khakis Down. I love both!
Haha!! I love your analogy! Thanks, so glad you like it. I'll have to check out the two you have.
Deletelol it does seem very salsa-y!!
DeleteI really like this shade on you! Too bad the formula wasn't that great but I hope it works well for marbling ;)
ReplyDeleteI hope so too ;0). Thanks hon!
DeleteReally nice color. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandra ;0).
Deletelovely, looks great!
ReplyDeleteThanks Shannara!!
DeletePretty color, but I'm not sure how good it would look on me. I don't have much experience with corals or reds. It looks good on you though! Too bad about the formula.
ReplyDeleteI think it would look great on you!! I love these types of shades. You should give them a try ;0).
DeleteGreat color! Is it a jelly?
ReplyDeleteIt's a mix between a creme and a jelly, but closer to a jelly.
DeleteIt's a beautiful color too bad the formula wasn't good.
ReplyDeleteI know. Hopefully, I can get good use out of it with water marbling.
DeleteAwww that sucks about the formula. I have quite a few SOPI's and they haven't been streaky like this :-( boooo SOPI!
ReplyDeleteYeah, sucks :(. I'm going to make it work though. I'm determined. Thanks again for sending it to me.
DeletePerfection with your skin tone!
ReplyDeleteI love this on you! And I bet this would make for a yummy glitter sandwich!
ReplyDeleteThis looks HOT HOT HOT on you! Pity about the formula but at least you will put it to good use :)
ReplyDeleteThe red really suits you, shame the formula was off and that is a great idea I will have to have a pile for things like that :)
ReplyDeleteToo bad for the formula cause this color was made for your skin tone. Now you have an excuse to do a water marble! Can't wait to see!
ReplyDeleteThis looks great on you Marisa! It's a shame about the formula, but great that it can be recycled by marbling with it :)
ReplyDeleteThis color looks so lovely with your skin tone! Too bad about the formula :(
ReplyDeleteI really like the coral res color :)
ReplyDeleteHmm, I can't wait to see how it is with water marbling.
