Essie Meet Me At Sunset vs. Avon Tangtastic

Hi everyone!!  I have a comparison post for you today.  A long, long time ago, I shared Essie Meet At Sunset with you all (click on the link to see the original post) and I mentioned that it reminded me of Avon Tangtastic.

I finally got around to trying them together.  Can you tell the difference on my nails?

Essie's Meet Me At Sunset is on my index and ring fingers, while Avon Tangtastic is on my middle and pinky fingers.  Very close aren't they?

It was difficult to capture the subtle difference on camera, but Avon Tangtastic leans more toward red than Meet Me At Sunset.  The finishes are also different.  Meet Me At Sunset is a jelly, while Tangtastic is a crelly finish.  Both applied evenly and easily, but there was more VNL with Meet Me At Sunset.  I used two coats for both polishes and no top coat, so they both dry with a beautiful shine.

I love these two colors!  They're really pretty and great for summer.

Now let's get to the most important part, cost.  Essie typically retails between $8 and $9.  I've been able to find it for $5 the least, unless it's on clearance and I might get it for $4.  Avon, however, retails for $5 and there is always a sale.  I typically get mine for $2.99 or $3.99 because Avon always has sales. 

So, do you really need both of these polishes in your life?  Probably not.  I think it comes down to your preference in finish and how much you are willing to spend.
