Twinsie Tuesday - Patriotic Manicure

Hi everyone!! Happy Tuesday!  As you read this, I'm away once again.  Hubby has whisked me away for a couple of days.  The location was a surprise to me, so by now I know where it is, but since this is a scheduled post, I didn't have the info at the time.  I'll be sure to update you all once I return.

This week, the twinsies had to create patriotic manicures in honor of Independence day (red, white, and blue).  The decision making process was tough for me with this one because I just couldn't figure out what I wanted to do.  First, I thought, I'd do some sort of tape mani.  Then I threw that out the window, because I was too lazy.  Then I decided I'd try a manicure with a safety pin (like this one), a technique I've been meaning to try. However, that was a fail.  Big time!  So finally, I decided to do a skittle mani with polka dots.

The colors I used were:
Red - Orly Star Spangled
White - Orly Au Champagne
Blue - NYC Pier 17

I just alternated the colors on each nail as a base and used the other two colors as polka dots.  I really liked my middle and ring fingers because I was able to spread the dots out nice and evenly and they didn't look too cluttered.  Hubby preferred the index and pinky fingers though.

I really liked this mani, even though it was a bit busy, lol.  When I wore it I got a lot of compliments too!  Many people couldn't believe I did it myself.  You know that made me smile ;0).
