Twinsie Tuesday - Crackle

Hi everyone!!  Happy Tuesday!  I'm going to be very busy today because my brother's getting married!!!! So excited!  I'll share the mani I did for the wedding with you guys soon ;0).

For Twinsie Tuesday, our job was to do a crackle manicure.  Now if you have been reading my blog for a while, you know that this was one that I definitely was not looking forward to.  I am not a fan of the crackle manicure at all.  To me, it looks like your polish is chipping and you need to do your nails over. Just sayin'.  Anyhoo, I must be a team player and participate with my twinsies ;0).

Because I am not a crackle fan, I was worried I wouldn't be able to do the challenge (I have never purchased a crackle polish).  Then I remembered that Carmela over at Polished Indulgence sent me a Revlon Nail Art Break Up polish.  These polishes are dual ended and come with a base coat on one end and a crackle polish on the other.

Fatal is the base coat and it is a berry jam-packed with shimmer.  It has an almost metallic finish.  It applied evenly and was opaque in one coat.  It also dried very quickly.  This is a really pretty color on its own.  It's perfect for fall.  Attraction, the crackle overcoat, is a deep red creme that dries matte. It's nothing very unique, but also dries very quickly.


I used no base or top coat for these swatches.

I really like that the base coat has lots of shimmer and when it peeks through, you see a bit of sparkle.  I'm not won over by the crackle though.  I'll be wearing Fatal on its own.
